Ian is an Associate member of the Institute of Plumbing and Heating Engineers. In addition he is Corgi registered with ACS certification in natural gas and LPG installation and service. He also holds certificates in Energy Efficiency, Unvented Hot Water Storage Installation and Service, and Water Byelaws 2000.  He served his apprenticeship within the engineering industry and after 5 years moved into a management role while still maintaining a hands on involvement in the project work.

In June 2004 Ian joined Total Reinstatement Services to manage the TRS Plumbing and Heating Services division.
